I’m an obsessive compulsive moisturizer.
There, I said it.
Dry skin on my lips, feet, hands, legs, cleavage, head or arms makes me go crazy! I just can’t deal with the scratchiness, and so I made a habit of having creams and oils within reach at all times: from the car to the nightstand and coffee table, from my kitchen to the shower and toilet. It’s everywhere, in every form, every fragrance, from almost every brand. (I’m exaggerating, but you get the picture, right?)
When I moisturize it almost feels like I’m really connecting with my body. As if I’m talking to it in a sweet and soothing manner. I like to comfort and nurture my skin, out of gratefulness. It has already done so much for me.
But if the dream is completely out of reach, the campaign only sets us up to feel left out and insecure! So every time a beauty brand has the guts to step away from that classic and boring perfectionism, I’m actively rooting for it!
Now, in the beauty world, it’s hard for almost every woman to relate with the images that are shown. Most of the times, the models on the pictures are overly airbrushed, tremendously slim, with a pure and white skin. I know that those brands want to sell a dream, but if the dream is completely out of reach, the campaign only sets us up to feel left out and insecure.
So every time a beauty brand has the guts to step away from that classic and boring perfectionism, I’m actively rooting for it! And this time, my support goes out to newest it-brand Glossier! Founded by famous beauty blogger (Into The Gloss) and journalist Emily Weiss 3 years ago, this well-thought-out beauty line celebrates connection, diversity and individuality with a handful of basics that are easy to use and gorgeous on your beauty shelf!
Meanwhile I’m on the waiting list for Glossier’s newest hit: the Body Hero Duo, with the Daily Oil Wash and Daily Perfecting Cream. Vegan, paraben free, cruelty free and soap free! And accompanied by a freaking hot campaign with gorgeous, more relatable women who all embrace their bodies with the super hero status they deserve!
Talking about swayness!
